As we all know nearly 2 million people pilgrim every year on the occasion of Hajj in the month of Zil-Hijjah, 12th Islamic month. The number of pilgrims is increasing with the passage of time. To handle huge amount of pilgrims very difficult. When pilgrims travel between Mecca, Medina and Riyadh traffic gets jammed.
Viewing this situation Saudi government started Al-Harmain Train Project in 2009. This project is near completion. This project will be 480 KM long and is expected to serve pilgrims for time span of 120 years. For now project is 90% completed and only 10% of the construction work is remaining.
Al-Harmain Train project is claimed to be biggest train project of middle-east. The project involves 140 overpasses and 860 water channels to discharge rainwater. This project will vanish pollution and traffic jams on the route. 35 electrical trains will run with a speed of 300 km/hour.
