Huawei, over the past few years has become the leading mobile manufacturer in the world. The smartphones made by huawei are popular around the globe Huawei P series and Mate series are the most successful flagships of the company. Huawei Mate series was introduced to compete with the phablets like Samsung note. Mate 9 is a latest addition to huawei phablet series and it has everything a flagship phablet device can offer in the modern age. The first thing that is noticeable about the Mate 9 is its size. Measuring 6.17 by 3.1 by 0.31 inches, it's a phablet-sized handset. The minute black border around the 5.9-inch 1080, 373 PPI display is barely noticeable, and you're more likely to take note of the white spaces directly above and below the display where the front-facing camera and the Huawei logo sit.
The Mate 9's brushed aluminum back is a little slippery, making it a little difficult to hold, but it's in line with the designs of other flagship handsets like note 6 or iPhone Plus series. The top portion of the back holds the dual 20-Megapixel monochrome and 12MP RGB Leica camera and fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor also supports a couple gestures like swiping to make things happen on screen, showing the notification panel, answering calls, and browsing photos. There are no glaring problems with the Mate 9's design, a sleek and elegant design gives mate 9 a touch of an elegant flagship device.
On the bottom edge is the USB-C port for charging and the speaker grills; the right side holds the power button and the volume rocker; the top has only the audio jack; and the left side has the SIM drawer. Mate 9 also provides dual SIM model but price for that model is a bit high and so does the availability. You can also add a microSD card in the second slot to add up to 256GB of storage. Though 64GB onboard storage on Mate 9 is more than enough to save games data pictures and videos. 4GB of ram on Mate 9 makes sure that there is no glitch or lag while playing games or surfing videos on net. Mate 9 processor is kirin 960 and of course it is huawei own made processor so there is no chance that
Mate 9 performs poorly while performing multiple tasks. The non removeable 4,000 MAH battery is another excellent addition and thanks to this huge battery Mate 9 can lasts almost for 2 days without a charge.
The Mate 9 comes with Android 7.0 (Nougat), and a Huawei created user interface called the Emotion UI 5.0 (EMUI 5.0), which conforms a lot more to a stock Android device. The Quick Settings menu now holds twice the number of shortcuts, with notifications showing at the bottom.
The default launcher lets you set it either as an app-drawer arrangement, or to put everything on the homepage like iOS.
A feature called App Twin lets you create a second instance of apps such as Facebook and WhatsApp so that you can access a different account without having to first log out or disassociate your existing account. With all the gimmicks and every single trick of keeping every kind of user interested, huawei has done a wonderful job by producing Mate 9. For sure it is a phablet, you will want to use for a long time.
