Pakistani internet broadband market has seen dramatic change in fast internet in affordable prices. There was a time when people would sit and wait for 52 kbps internet connection over Ptcl copper wire to connect. It was indeed much expensive at that time. Now time and technology have shifted altogether on 180 degrees. Today broadband internet is much affordable, thanks to new innovations in the field of mobility.
Currently since 3G and 4G technology was introduced it revolutionized the access and usage of internet. Now there is no more Ptcl monopoly. Zong and Warid were the only companies in Pakistan which legally launched their 4G services. Zong has become the leader in providing quality broadband services. Indeed it is enjoying most 4G customers and its benefits. Zong has most cheap and elastic packages than any other company. Few months back Zong increased its package tariff significantly.
Telenor acquired 4G licensed much after Zong, so was struggling to capture customers. It was difficult to do so as Zong was offering best priced packages. This time Telenor has come with new strategy. Let's see comparison between Zong and Telenor devices and packages. We will be reviewing Monthly 50GB package and its prices.
| Zong | Telenor |
---|
Device Price | 4G Bolt (PKR 3,000) | 4G MiFi (PKR 3,000) |
---|
Package GBs | 50GB | 55GB |
---|
Package Price | PKR2,500 | PKR2,200 |
---|
Extra GBs | 5GB | 28GB |
---|
Users can connect? | 10 | 16 |
---|
As we can see the comparison and can conclude Telenor is trying hard to capture more and more customers. Device price is the same. Zong is offering 50GB in monthly bundle along with 5GB promo internet. In total it becomes 55 GBs. Where Telenor is offering 55GB in normal bundle and 28GB as promo internet which totals 83 GBs. If we compare price of the same package Zong is charging it PKR2, 500 and Telenor is charging 2, 200.
Concluding comments would be that we must try Telenor as we can get extra internet in less price. Telenor has more coverage than Zong. So let's keep our fingers crossed and see how Telenor performs. We at iTechHut wish good luck to Telenor for its future plans.
