K2-18B

Scientists have discovered a huge evidence of life in space outside Earth and this century's biggest discovery, team is led by Indian-origin scientist Dr. Nikku Madhusudhan.

Dr. Madhusudhan's team has found traces of life on the planet K2-18b in the Kepler belt. His team came to know about this with the help of data from the James Webb Space Telescope due to the presence of carbon and methane on this planet.

Remember that K2-18b is in the habitable zone and this is the region of space where a planet can hold water.

Located at a distance of seven hundred trillion miles or 124 light years, this planet is 2.6 times larger than Earth and 8.6 times more massive. While this planet probably has "Hykens", which is a hydrogen-rich atmosphere and has vast oceans of water.

His team, using the James Webb Space Telescope's Near Infrared Imager and Spectrograph, has detected a molecule called dimethyl sulfide on this planet, which is only produced by life on Earth and could be evidence of the presence of phytoplankton or algae.

While according to NASA, more data analysis is still needed.

Remember, this discovery could be the biggest discovery of this century and the end of this long journey in which we have been feeling alone in this universe. But so far this discovery is only three sigma level or 99.97% sure. While it should be 99.99999% sure, then all scientists will be able to agree with this discovery and call it a five sigma level result in scientific language.

Therefore, many questions remain to be answered, but so far this discovery is giving very encouraging news.
